Q: location of fuse link on a 1992 Nissan Maxima for the charging system?
Can someone can tell me the location of the fuze link for the charging system of a 1992 Nissan Maxima? I know it's between the Altenator and battery but where at in the line?
A: No I cant, there is no such thing. No fuze link between the "Altenator and battery".
Q: How do I stop my 1994 Nissan Maxima seatbelt warning from beeping?
My 1994 Nissan Maxima seatbelt alarm beeps randomly, regardless of whether I'm wearing it or not. Anyone know how to stop this? It may be silent for days or may beep every 10 minutes; like Chinese water torture. Help!
A: try connecting some of the other seat belts in the car,if that doesn't work ,the beeper is located in under the dash, you can disconnect it ,but you still need to wear the seat belt, good luck with it.
Q: What are costs to replace a timing belt on Nissan Maxima 97?
I'm considering buying a Nissan maxima 97 with 90K miles. Owner has everything original on it except tires (including timing belt, battery, muffler etc.) and has maintained it well. I'm not a car guy, but wondering what expenses / or parts I would have to consider changing or replacing? I've heard the timing belt is a must cause it can ruin the engine. Is that true, can I drive it till it breaks and then replace it? How much does that cost, and any other things that I should consider? Thanks
Thanks
A: ok dont listen to anybodys answer except mine cause these people are stupid and dont even know how to start there own car listen i had a 97 maxima is was a good car and prety fast and it has a timeing chain whitch dose have to be replaced at like 120 thousand miles or less sometimes people get lucky and they go 180 thousand miles and it dosent break but when it dose it causees motor damage and valve damage which mean ur car is buted so ur best bet is to spend extra money and take it to the dealer and for 800 bucks you get the timing chain done and all the other bels plus water pump whgich needs to get done any time timing belt is replaced anyway plus it will get done right
Q: Can you buy a new keyless remote for a Nissan Maxima and it work?
I need to replace the keyless remote for my 1996 Nissan Maxima, and noticed they're sold on sites like this:
https://www.originalkeyless.com/displayProductDocument.hg?productId=1665
Would it really work and would I be able to program it myself with instructions, or does it need the dealers computer?
A: Yes, buying another keyless remote for your nissan will work, but you'll need to reprogram it; for the gist of it on a car like yours (and mine) programming typically involves sitting in your car and pushing one of the buttons in for about 5-10 seconds until the receiver regonizes it. It still wouldn't hurt to find instructions (dedicated repair manual or website) since the process is slightly different according to car makes.
If you take it to a dealer the charge is typically $100-$150 for the remote itself and another $35-$50 for THEM to program it in. it's best to do it yourself and save yourself $150 since it's fairly easy and straightforward I think.
btw: your new remote should come with programming instructions anyway so you're probably set already.
Q: What car can you compare the Nissan Maxima to?
I've always compared the Maxima to a Honda Accord; but when I went to the Nissan dealership, he compared it to an Acura TL...I am not sure if this is true, or just sales talk, but what do you compare the Maxima to? And is it good for a 24 y/o? Or should I get something else?
A: an altima = accord = camry
maxima rules period. why
acura tl = dealer price no discounts & it has small interior
G35 = small interior & 300 hp
camry = senior citizen styling . blah
accord = family man car. blah
altima = 270 hp & cheezy interior
maxima = fat wide tires & huge interior
Q: What is the song in the commercial for the new Nissan Maxima?
The commercial for the new 2009 Nissan Maxima has a really catchy song playing in the background, which sounds kind of old school. Does anyone know what it is? The commercial shows 2 Maximas (white & black) coming together to make 1.
A: i believe it is
join together - the who
actually im pretty sure.
Q: Where is the fuel filter located on a 97 Nissan Maxima?
I need to change the fuel filter on my 97 Nissan Maxima. Is it easily accessible? Thanks!
A: pretty easy, facing car to left of master cylinder on firewall, 2 phillips hose clamps hold filter on should take 10-15 minutes to do, reccomend nissan factory fuel filter too.
Q: How often should one have a transmission flush on a Nissan Maxima?
I have a 2003 Nissan Maxima with 41000 KMS on it. The last time I took it in for service I was told that the car is due for a transmission flush.
A: A tranny flush can wait til 100,000 miles, IF, the fluid on the stick is still that healthy pink color (not dark) and doesn't have the tell-tale burnt smell to it. I'm guessing that Nissan recommends a flush at somewhere around 60,000. They recommend this because they have to consider their cars that end up in hot climates, or driving on steep roads as with mountain communities. Those things will take a heavy tole on trannies and the fluid. But regular driving that doesn't involve those stresses can prolong a tranny flush until 90 to 100,000 miles.
Q: Where is the neutral safety switch located on a nissan maxima?
I have a 1993 Nissan Maxima that sometimes wont start unless shifted into neutral and slammed into park. I had a friend check it and they said I need to replace the neutral safety switch. I now have the part but dont know where to find it on the car. Please help. I read the chiltons manual and it has a picture but cant tell if it is inside the shifter or on top or motor or underneath.
A: Usually where the shifter is, you would need to remove the rubber boot around it. That is if the shifter is located between the two front seats next to your right leg.
Q: what is the difference between nissan maxima and altima ?
I been doing some research on the nissan Maxima and Altima and they both look the same to me the Maxima just is more expensive can someone please tell me the difference and can someone please suggest one for a 19 yr. old first time driver that when I gradauate from highschool and which one would be better for a college student the altima or maxima thanks for the answers in advance.
A: The Maxima and Altima are built on the same platform and while they look very similar, they are designed to suit different kinds of customers.
The Altima is built more for young families and teens/college students. The Maxima is slightly larger, has better performance, and is built more for adults who want a cross between a sports car and a sedan.
I would recommend the Altima for you.
Q: Can a missing EVAP canister purge control solenoid valve affect how well my 98 Nissan Maxima starts?
My 98 Nissan Maxima has been giving me trouble starting. If it's the first time I use it in the day, the engine takes quite awhile to turn.
I know the EVAP canister purge control solenoid valve of my Nissan needs to be replaced, but my mechanic says that that part should have nothing to do with how well my car starts. Could this be the reason for the poor starting or should I keep looking?
A: Question of the day is why dose the valve need replacing? The last Nissan I needed to replace that valve on , was plugged up with carbon from a bad charcoal canister. It was sucking charcoal into the motor , not a good thing. If the valve is stuck open , at best you will have a vacuum leak , at worst , you will be sucking fumes from the tank all the time. Have your guy check a little closer. By the way, the dealer had new canisters and control valves on the shelf. That should tell you something. If all else is correct it may be part of your start problem
Q: What is a good site to get instructions for Nissan Maxima repairs?
I have a 97 nissan maxima and I'd like to avoid the auto shop as much as possible. I'm looking for a definitive website that has clear step by step instructions for everything from changing spark plugs to changing engines. Any suggestions? Thanks.
A: Go to your local auto parts store and they should have a haynes or chilton repair manual that will describe and show you everything you will like to do to your vehicle.
Q: What are the steps to change a timing belt on a 2002 Nissan Maxima?
How difficult is it to change the timing belt on a 2002 Nissan maxima? What tools and steps do I need to take? Can a guy with basic tool and automechanics skills do it or does it need to go to the nissan shop?
A: No steps, no timing belt. The Max like all late-model Nissan's uses a Timing Chain, not a belt which never has to be serviced.
Q: what cars are comparable to the nissan maxima?
Within the next year I am planning on getting a new car. I really like the Nissan Maxima, but I would really like other cars to compare it to. What other cars are comparable to the Nissan Maxima, as far as price, quality, appearance, etc....
Any advice is helpful!
A: Honda Accord EX V6, Mazdaspeed 6, Volkswagen Passat,
Q: Nissan Maxima?
Do you think they will ever make a Nissan Maxima hybrid version? The Maxima's my favorite car, but I always preferred cars with high city/highway mileage.
A: they will not. first of all it uses the 2.5 engine not the 3.5 like the maxima.. you will probably see a hydrogen car before any other nissan hybrids.. the whole hybrid system is a toyota system. i was told by nissan "higher up" that government basically forced them to sell somesort of hybrid hence toyota powerplant
